Over 90 acres of Fall farm fun ……right here in Fairfax County?

Yes, it’s true! Even in our county of 1 million people right outside Washington DC, there remains one family-owned farm which opens to the public in the Fall of each year to host its famous Fall Festival.

Since 1972, Cox Farms has been a family tradition for thousands of Fairfax County families. “Many of our visitors are third-generation Cox Farms customers,” says Eric Cox, founder and owner. “They first came here as kids years ago, then they brought their own kids, and now some of them are bringing their grandchildren!”

The most popular Fall Festival attractions are the famous hayride (around the pond, through the woods, and ending in the Enchanted Barn), five giant slides, the Cornundrum cornfield adventure , rope swings, hay tunnels and more. What’s your favorite?

“The baby pigs,” says Meredith. “The baby chickens. The baby goats. Actually, all the baby animals.”

“Kettle corn,” insists her brother James. “Large kettle corn. ”

The Fall Festival is open daily Sept 24 – Oct 31, 2011 from 10am to 6pm (last entry 5pm). The season will wrap up with some Pumpkin Madness fun (Nov 5-6)! For full information, resources and directions see: www.coxfarms.com
